Jonathan Colen

I build interpretable models of complex systems using tools from artificial intelligence, machine learning, and physics. I work at the ODU-Jefferson Lab Joint Institute on Advanced Computing for Energy & Science and am supported by the Hampton Roads Biomedical Research Consortium. Past projects have aimed to use AI/ML to advance scientific understanding for systems at the intersection of soft materials and biology. My research focuses on multidisciplinary problems along two main thrusts: AI for Science and AI for Health.
